Position: Project Engineer – Renewable Energy: Based in Hong Kong
Our client an international Corporation is a diversified financial services and investment company. Headquartered in N/S.E.Asia with global operations, they are active in the renewable power and green energy sectors as developer, investor, owner, operator and asset manager of renewable energy projects. They have more than 5 GW of renewable investments across the wind, solar, hydro, Geothermal and storage sectors and continuously pursue new investment opportunities across markets and are expanding their team as they progress.
We currently are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to assist with the technical and business development aspects of the solar and wind energy business, including managing energy resource assessments, engineering, project delivery and operations.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical advice and support during project development
• Engage with and manage outside service providers for site identification and
verification, energy resource assessments, grid connection interface, project design, engineering solutions and technology selection as required to meet project needs
• Analysis and preparation of system production and other technical inputs required for technical and project agreements and financial modelling
• Assist with the technical review of key elements of the projects
• Oversee initial contact and manage selection and analysis of relevant EPC, balance-of-plant or operating and maintenance contractors
• Development of technical specifications and scope of work documentation for the projects
• Provide inputs for weekly and monthly reporting
• Appoint and work closely with external technical advisors where appropriate
• Prepare materials and participate in business development meetings
• Maintain working knowledge of current (and proposed) renewable technologies
• Any other tasks that would be required to fulfil the position
Requirements:
• Role based in Hong Kong
• Bachelors degree in mechanical, electrical or a similarly related engineering field of study
• A minimum of 8-10 years technical experience with an energy developer, manufacturer, consultancy or related industry and renewable focus
• Knowledge of output, performance and reliability factors of various technologies
• Knowledge of industry standards, design and installation codes
• Sound understanding of standard commercial arrangements in the renewable industry
• Close adherence and knowledge of industry best practice Workplace Health Safety and Environment (WHSE) standards
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise at all levels
• Enjoy and be effective at developing and nurturing team relationships
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Be ambitious, motivated and have the drive to succeed
• Willingness to travel regionally
