Job Title: Project Director (Data Centre Construction)(French Speaker)
The Project Director will be responsible for establishing and managing a GDS program (s) for the green-field build of data centres internationally. The Project Director will be familiar with contract services and large scale project delivery working with customer counterpart(s). The Project Director is responsible for the success of the Project, the Project budget, change management and providing status reports to the customer and.
Key Responsibilities:
• The overall Project including project managing the deployment of a greenfield data-centre internationally
• Represent to the customer.
• Ensure core processes are in place to effectively manage deliverables, including the change management process, including sufficient project management resources.
• Manage resources (including the budget) with the various providers including external consultants, external contractors, and resources to meet contract deliverables.
• Supervise a team of Project Managers in the actual execution of the project.
• Ensure program reports are regularly updated in order to provide accurate reporting to stakeholders, and standard reporting tools are used such as MS Project.
• Ensure change requests are appropriately managed and all relevant agreements/signoffs are obtained prior to agreeing to a change.
Deliverables & KPI
• Establish programs and ensure management reporting is in place covering all aspects of deliverables, monthly reporting provide to stakeholders program performance including performance of third parties, and Global (Suppliers);
• Effective management of the Suppliers and ensuring contractual deliverables are met in accordance with contract deliverables.
• Change requests are clearly identified and raised with the customer and management.
• Costs are managed within budget or budget as varied by a change request.
Requirements:
• Engineering or Business degree/diploma with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in telecommunications or related industry.
• Able to communicate in both verbal and written English and French (Mandatory).
• Proven experience in delivering projects or programs in excess of USD10 Million value.
• Familiar with data centre construction including greenfield building construction, data centre fit-out, and data centre operations.
• Able to travel internationally for site progress reports.
• Formal Project Management certification (preferred).
• Ability to use and report in MS Project (preferred).
