1.Senior Construction Manager
Responsible to the Line Manager & Project Director for one of the Dubai Expo 2020 projects.

Having worked with both Developers and Main contractors is essential to this role as this role is will be representing the developer overseeing Main & Subcontractors.


2. Manage contractors and sub-contractors during the construction phase of the Burj 2020 District. Work with the design team, project manager and other contractors to pro-actively resolve issues and ensure minimal delays on site.

Indirect Reports Total: Est. 7,000

4. KEY Accountabilities:
Construction Management & Planning, Plan and oversee strategic and detailed sequence of construction activities to meet the project programme/
contractors’ programmes, Co-ordinate and direct the main contractor and sub-contractors. Ensure contractor and sub-contractors are clear on demarcation of responsibilities, without gaps, Co-ordinate and direct the main contractor and sub-contractors.

List of contractors and works to include:
Raft, main, façade, MEP (HV electrical, LV electrical. HVAC, fire services, security, generators, mobile phone distribution systems, gas system, BMS, PABX), lifts & escalators, BMU, landscaping, office fit-outfit-out, hotel and branded residences fit-out, raised floor, acoustic treatment, doors and hardware, signs & graphics, office tenant fit-outs, exterior lighting, interior lighting, water features, kitchen equipment, mock-ups.
Plan ahead to proactively prevent problems and resolve emerging problems Collaborate with designers to arrive at most practical, cost-effective solutions to design issues Sensible win-win solutions found

Quality Management:
Monitor contractors’ work to ensure contractual conditions of performance met & works are carried out to the required standards
Safety Management: Ensure construction standards are met and proper construction techniques used for a safe working environment & culture of safety on site
Cost Management: Mitigate claims by the contractor and find solutions that do not require the issue of VO’s or frivolous claims, resolve before the situation arises, minimal VO’s required

Resolving design & construction issues, monitoring & ensuring co-ordination is taking place

8. Qualifications:
BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field
Experience: 20 yrs proven working experience, including construction management of high profile, high quality projects encompassing Grade A office and 5-star hotels.
